I worked closely with Sister Marilyn Morgan over the past two years during the building of our new hospital, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center located in Gilbert, Arizona. She was the liaison between the various artists, vendors and the Sisters of Mercy to ensure our chapel and hospital lobby reflected our Mission and Heritage of our Sisters. We could not be more pleased with the way our chapel looks, feels and functions. We receive many letters from employees, patients and families about the sense of serenity and beauty in our chapel. Working with Sister Marilyn has been a wonderful experience and I consider her a friend as well as an expert in her field.
I worked with Sister Marilyn for several years on a very complex, extensive and expensive remodel of our 144,000 square feet worship space.
I found her to be knowledgeable, well read and current on guidelines and liturgical requirements for Catholic churches. Her lectures and inventory of pictures of what other parishes have done for remodels and new construction were educational, thought provoking and eye opening. She was adept at getting us to explore ideas we developed and refine them into finished products.
She directed our monthly renovation committee meetings and kept us on track, on subject and pretty much on time. We had a cooperative group that respected each members opinions and ideas due in great part to Sister Marilyn’s tutelage. Her’s was the only part of our total budget that came in under budget.
She is personable, comfortable in front of strangers and has a great sense of humor. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sister Marilyn Morgan for any church renovation or new construction.
Renovating Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church was a challenge of the highest order for us, as the architects, and the building committee. Sister Marilyn guided us all through many difficult decisions and creative opportunities with the unique and brilliant light that is her gift. There’s no one else quite like her, to be sure.
